NOW PROVIDING ULTRASOUND-GUIDED CARPAL TUNNEL RELEASE

We are now providing the latest advanced treatment for those who suffer from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Ultrasound Guided for Carpal Tunnel Release with SX-One Microknife.

What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

The Carpal tunnel is the area or passageway that connects the hand to the wrist. In this area of the hand and wrist are several tendons and a nerve called the median nerve. The tendons help the fingers to move while the median nerve is in charge of sensation to the thumb and fingers.

When a person uses their hand with repetitive wrist movement, the median nerve can become pinched or compressed by swollen surrounding tissue, causing a limited flow of blood to the fingers and can lead to decreased function. A person can be more prone to carpal if they participate in activities or certain jobs that require repetitive awkward hand movements, vibration, or stress on the palm. People that are prone to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome are: People who are always on the keyboard, production workers, janitors, carpenters, people who use repetitive wrist movement.

Symptoms

*Numbness in the hand and fingers.

* Tingling in fingers and hand.

* Weakness with the hand and fingers

* Shocking sensation that radiates to the thumb and fingers.

* Unable to easily grab and hold things in hand.

Carpal Tunnel Release with Ultrasound Guidance and SX-ONE, how does it work?

Carpal tunnel release is a surgery used to treat and potentially heal the painful condition known as carpal tunnel syndrome. With this new advanced Ultrasound Guidance and SX-ONE microknife, carpal tunnel release has become more manageable, with less incision, less pain, and faster recovery. SX-One Microknife is a minimally invasive procedure that is performed through a ~5 mm incision and can be done in the office. When Dr Mark Davis D.O. performs carpal tunnel release with the SX-One MicroKnife and ultrasound guidance, all of the critical anatomy in the patient’s wrist and hand can be seen. This allows the physician to see clearly and protect sensitive anatomic structures in the wrist and hand.

Some benefits to this new technique:

 * Small incision typically closed without sutures

* Pain after treatment is minimal, only local anesthesia is required.

* Recovery time is faster.

* Patients usually can return to work in 3-6 days

* Immediate motion of the hand,

* Most patients only require acetaminophen or NSAIDs for pain management.

* It’s safe and effective and typically postoperative therapy is not needed.

*It has less scarring
